Design That Inspires

Leah Blumberg — interior designer, curator of atmosphere, and current student at the Heritage School of Interior Design — channels a lifetime love of beautiful, purposeful spaces into interiors that feel at once fearless and finely tuned. Raised in Chicago’s restless, layered energy, Leah learned early how a room can shape mood, memory, and momentum. She studied Art History at Colorado College, where a reverence for visual storytelling, material culture, and the histories behind objects deepened her appetite for eclectic, layered environments.

Before pursuing formal design studies, she honed an exacting eye and theatrical sense of composition as Visual Merchandising Manager at Anthropologie, orchestrating immersive displays that stopped passersby and told stories at a glance. That experience taught her to pare back clutter, bend rules, and compose scenes that command attention — always with an obsession for texture, scale, patina, and the unexpected detail that makes a space sing.

Leah’s practice celebrates artful bohemianism and the joyful collision of new and vintage, high and humble, global and local. She mixes eras and styles with confident curiosity: contemporary lighting beside weathered antiques, bold modern art over handwoven textiles, sleek hardware paired with pieces found in flea-market serendipity. Every room is curated like a small museum of lived life—eclectic but intentional, layered but readable.

Her design ethos is about mood and meaning rather than rules or rigidity. Leah sculpts interiors that feel personal, adventurous, and comfortably worn-in, where each object has a story and every surface invites touch. The result is spaces that are visually rich, warmly lived-in, and endlessly inspirational—places where artful eclecticism becomes the backdrop for daily living and creative possibility.
